For a little over two years, I served as a staff scientist at the Organization for Bat Conservation, a non-profit focused on educating and inspiring people to actively protect bats.

EMU Bat Lab
I was a Graduate Assistant at Eastern Michigan University (EMU), where I conducted thesis research on migratory strategies of bats.

ISU Center for Bat Research, Outreach, and Conservation
The ISU Center for Bat Research, Outreach, and Conservation, in addition to other high-quality research, conducts an ongoing project monitoring a population of endangered Indiana bats.

I have worked as an environmental consultant (as both a technician and staff scientist) on projects involving bats, including pre-construction assessments of bat habitat and communities, and monitoring birds & bats killed at wind turbines.

Wild South
I did a summer internship at the non-profit Wild South where I worked closely with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission monitoring bats in the Smokey Mountains, terrestrial salamanders living at high altitudes, and hellbender salamanders.

United States Environmental Protection Agency
I interned for six months at the Environmental Protection Agency in D.C., in the Office of Wetlands, Oceans, and Watersheds.
